We completed the notes on the Protestant Reformation, and reviewed the Renaissance and the printing press. We focused on Martin Luther and his split with the Catholic Church. We also talked about King Henry the 8th and him being a terrible husband. We completed the cartoon activity.

We started the Renaissance and how civilizations transitioned from the Middle Ages into a new period of rebirth and culture. We did notes and a PowerPoint. We did a reading and answered 15 questions. We watched two short videos and discussed art. Flocabulary - Renaissance Rap

It's all about the Bubonic Plague, or the Black Death, which started in Asia and spread throughout Europe. It killed roughly 1/3 of all humans on the planet, decimating the towns and villages of Europe. We did two readings, completed one worksheet, and watched some great videos, including 25 minutes from Mankind:Episode 5. Watch from 12 minutes to 35 minutes.
We continued our exploration of the middle ages in Europe by learning about the violent Crusades, the signing of the Magna Carta by King John, and the Hundred Years War that was effected by Joan of Arc. We did up to #17 on the middle ages packet, and colored all but the last box on the coloring sheet. I changed the due date for the project until Friday.
