We started the monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. We talked about the history of Jesus in primary sources, the spreading of Christianity by Paul throughout the Roman Empire, and how these three religions have a lot in common. Watch the first five minutes of the video below, and then jump to the 25 minute mark to learn about Paul and the use of the Roman trade networks to spread religion. This led to the rise of Islam and the importance of Mecca. We started filling out the Religions chart, which will be used on the open note test and collected.
