We continued and completed our Urban Simulation for the Industrial Revolution. Students had two paragraphs to write at the completion. Now people are living in cities, and they aren't healthy or safe. Life expectancy for poor city dwellers drops to 31 years of age. Children and women are now working long hours in dangerous jobs. The family structure has been totally upended. Pollution and unhealthy environments are rampant. This leads to a slew of new problems like child labor, cancer, inequality, and new social classes. We will look at the impact of the Industrial Revolution next. In two well written paragraphs, on the back side of your drawing(or on paper), answer the questions below. 1. Give me an overview of how villages changed into cities? Explain what we just did. 2. How did inventions and new technologies affect how cities developed? Use two examples from the urban simulation drawing.
