We completed a chart activity and reading on absolutism and the monarchs of this time. The purpose was to show that they wanted total power, had minimum or no checks and balances, and claimed divine right (power from God). This was turned in for a grade. We started our lessons on the Scientific Revolution and did a real cool journal and discussion about the impact of inventions and how everything we have now, all of our favorite things, had to be built from earlier inventions and discoveries. We did a short note sheet with the causes of the Enlightenment and Scientific Revolution.
