We continued and completed our Urban Simulation for the Industrial Revolution. Students had a paragraph to write at the completion. I collected the inventors homework. Now people are living in cities, and they aren't healthy or safe. Life expectancy for poor city dwellers drops to 31 years of age. Children and women are now working long hours in dangerous jobs. The family structure has been totally upended. Pollution and unhealthy environments are rampant. This leads to a slew of new problems like child labor, cancer, inequality, and new social classes. We will look at the impact of the Industrial Revolution next.
